Data Storage & Recovery
Description:
Priority Backup is a MANAGED backup solution whereby the Clients are not responsible for maintaining their own backups and monitoring their success. Instead, LiveFile and our partners at TekTegrity work with the customer to determine what to be backed up, how frequently, and how long to retain data. TekTegrity reviews backup logs weekly to ensure reliable backup operation.
Customers may choose to have offsite data replication so that their backup data is stored off-site on a secure co-located storage server and always available. Or data backups can be configured to be performed using servers owned by the client and located in 2 separate offices or locations, each backing up to the other.
How Does Priority Backup Work? :
Priority Backup allows the customer to choose between backing up individual files and folders or entire volumes and databases. Any desktop or server can be backed up, even laptops that are off-site.
Priority Backup allows you to maintain compliance with State and Federal government laws regarding retention of employee records and industry specific data retention needs. In the event of a catastrophic failure such as a server crash, data can be written to recovery CDs and/or DVDs. An entire server can be rebuilt from the CDs/DVDs with no data loss! Our backup service comes with the experts and manpower to rebuild you vital information in the event of an emergency. We don’t’ leave it up to you to figure out, we are there for you to get your business information back on-line ASAP when you need it the most.
A 128 Bit Encrypted link is used to initiate the backup of servers and workstations that have the back up agent installed. All transactions are accomplished with aSecure secure certificate link between the storage servers and Client servers.
- The backup agents are installed onto the servers or work stations to be backed up. The various directories and databases are selected for inclusion in the daily backup. Up to 2 hours of setup time are included during setup. Additional work or setup of additional hardware or servers at client locations can be done on an hourly basis and additional fees would apply.
- The initial backup of the systems is done as a complete backup, depending upon the amount of data to be protected it may be accomplished over several hours. For this reason it is advised for the initial backup to be executed at the end of a work day.
- Daily backups are incremental backups of information that has been either changed or added since the latest full backup event. Incremental backups are performed after working hours to speed up the time required and limit impact on business operations.
- Snapshots of all backed up information can be saved as needed and will be saved as a point in time complete backup. All subsequent daily backups will not affect the snapshot. In the event certain files are required from the snapshot, they can be retrieved.
Offsite Data Storage:
Offsite replication safeguards customers against fire, flood, and theft, and provides true geographic redundancy of backup data. In addition, files can be restored instantly over the internet. Backups replicated offsite are stored at a datacenter in San Luis Obispo and are available for recovery at any time.
